The City of Reading, Pennsylvania was founded in 1748. Reading is known as "The Pretzel City" due to the vast amount of pretzels being produced by the mid 20th century. Today you can still find a host of pretzel bakeries around the city to enjoy fresh baked gourmet pretzels!
